Hello and welcome to my website! My name is Jo and I am a self-taught, traditional animal portrait artist based in Dorset, UK. I specialise in pet portraits and wildlife.

I have been drawing ever since I was very little. I have so many fond memories of sitting for hours and hours in the countryside drawing - I must've been an easy child to look after! During school I was often asked to paint murals in the playground or the local community and my Christmas paintings featured many times in the local Dubber. I went on to complete a BTEC Extended Diploma in Art & Design in 2013 and began building my portfolio gradually since 2019, mostly drawing for friends and family. In 2020 I was so excited to receive my first 'proper' commission and since then, I have been incredibly lucky to draw pets in all corners of the globe! Creating unique, everlasting keepsakes of my client's beloved pets truly makes me so happy and proud. In the pursuit of captivating your pet's likeness, I have spent years experimenting and honing my drawing skills.

All of my pet portraits take between 10 and 25 hours to create and are meticulously hand-drawn with professional quality materials using your treasured photographs as references. I absolutely love working with client's to bring to life a portrait that we are both incredibly proud of and I can't wait to get started on yours!
